About Elizabeth

Elizabeth Theriault holds a Masters of Clinical Social Work and Public Health. She has over 18 years experience working in social work and public health, as a clinician and community health advocate around the globe.

Elizabeth started her career in clinical social work in a high risk OB clinic. It was there that she found her passion for working with mothers, however it was not until many years later after birthing her first child that she realized her calling and began to search for a way she could support mothers during the pregnancy and postpartum time.

After the birth of her son Elizabeth discovered she had chronic low milk supply, confused and distraught by this news she went on a mission to find support and information about this condition. Sadly, there was little to be found. After many months of struggling alone Elizabeth was determined to build a network of support for mothers facing postpartum challenges. She created a support group for low milk supply moms, a network of milk donors, and provided 1:1 informal support for moms.

Elizabeth is a Certified INNATE Postpartum Practitioner. She has an extensive background in energy psychology, ceremony practice, as well as, traditional counseling psychology. Elizabeth is a registered Associate Social Worker (#96826) practicing under the supervision of Amy Chevrolet (#20436). Elizabeth also has formal training in Perinatal Mood and Anxiety Disorders from Postpartum Support International. She works with individuals and couples to help prepare them for the postpartum time and support them through their parenting journey.

In addition, Elizabeth believes strongly in the healing power of peer support and community. She has facilitated postpartum healing circles, new moms groups, and low milk supply groups. She brings her knowledge as a mother, Certified INNATE Postpartum Practitioner, Reiki healer, community health advocate, and Clinical Social worker to the mothers and couples she works with.

Elizabeth believes we could change the world if each woman became a mother in a community where she was cherished, nurtured and revered. She creates sacred space for mothers pregnancy and postpartum journey, honoring their birth experience as a rite of passage into motherhood.

Elizabeth lives in Petaluma, CA with her husband and two children and offers her services in the North Bay and online.

“Postpartum care is a necessity -not a luxury- for mothers & families to thrive.
